Supervision

Working independently in private practice can often lead to feelings of isolation and overwhelm. However, having access to the appropriate support and guidance can make a significant difference in navigating practice-related challenges and preventing burnout.

Supervision offers a valuable avenue for obtaining the necessary feedback to gain an objective perspective on your performance and skills. It provides an opportunity to learn and develop new abilities while discovering more effective ways to assist clients, ultimately revitalising your practice.

By engaging in supervision, you can:

  • Seek the feedback required to gain a fresh and unbiased understanding of your professional performance and capabilities.

  • Receive support and guidance in resolving practice issues, reducing the sense of overwhelm, and preventing burnout.

  • Embrace a learning mindset, utilising supervision as a platform to acquire and practice new skills.

  • Explore innovative approaches to client care, enhancing your ability to provide effective support.

  • Reinvigorate your passion for your practice by discovering fresh perspectives and strategies.

My experience and educational background

As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), I provide professional Social Work supervision in my private practice located in Thornlands, Queensland as well as online.

I have been providing clinical, practice-based supervision to Social Workers and other professionals since 2016. I provide a reflective approach to supervision and have received comprehensive training in Professional Practice Supervision through Amovita. I believe in the importance of self-care, having personally encountered the challenges of experiencing burnout over the course of my career.

My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in social work, Master's degree in Counselling, and I am currently undertaking a PhD with a focus on EMDR therapy and Complex Trauma.

With extensive prior experience in the community sector, I have developed a particular interest in trauma, which ultimately led me to establish my private practice in 2018. Within this practice, I provide counselling using evidence-based modalities such as EMDR therapy, ACT, and Resource Therapy (Parts work).

To ensure a good fit, I am available for a preliminary discussion over the phone to address your specific supervision requirements before scheduling your first appointment with me.
